The Journey....
Born and raised on Florida beaches and nurtured under the Caribbean sun, Katelyn's passion for swimwear and fashion was inevitable.
Her journey into the world of fashion began during high school, where working at a bridal shop in her hometown sparked a realization of the transformative power of clothing.
After earning her bachelor's degree in Marketing, Katelyn pursued her true calling with a design degree from FIDM. As a student, she fell in love with the swimwear category interning at Poko Pano for Katin Swimwear, immersing herself in every aspect from design and pattern making to graphic design. Following this, she further honed her skills at GG Collective, where she transitioned from intern to assistant designer for the small brand, giving her valuable insight into the whole process of running a brand. Notably, she went on the work at REVOLVE for 5 years, where her presence was invaluable. She helped to start the swimwear department at the company and proceeded to move it up to the top selling category for 3 years in a row. She also became interested in sustainability during her time here, shifting 90% of all swimwear fabrics to recycled fabrications and helping implement a company wide plan for sustainability in other department.
While swimwear remains her specialty, Katelyn's versatility has expanded across fully fashioned knits, evening wear, activewear, outerwear, intimates, and loungewear. Her expertise in garment construction and technical design is comprehensive and deeply ingrained.
In 2020, driven by a commitment to sustainability, Katelyn pursued an MBA in Sustainable Fashion Management from the Sustainability Management School in Switzerland, fostering connections with leaders in the sustainable fashion movement.
Her career reached new heights in 2022 when she orchestrated her debut Miami Swimweek Fashion Show in collaboration with Beach Bunny Swimwear, a success she repeated in 2023, solidifying her reputation as a trailblazer in the industry.
and so the story continues…..
